First published in 1999, MaltaToday was fashioned as an alternative to the conservative English-language press. Its irreverent style appeals to a liberal, educated and AB audience. The newspaper has made a name for itself by setting the national and political agenda and has campaigned on issues including political accountability and civil liberties.

MaltaToday is published on Wednesdays and Sundays and is distributed nationally alongside free magazines including Gourmet Today and Architecture and Design.
